[ToastMaster] Timer role

Before the meeting, when we introduced and explain the role of timer：

Good morning, ToastMaster.

My role as timer is to monitoring time during prepare speech、table topic、evaluations. At the end of the meeting, I will report the time of each participant. This will let you know if you deliver your presentation within the allotted time frame.

Timer 的工作顧名思義就是計算時間。

一般的演講時間是 5~7 分鐘， Table topic 是1~2分鐘，而 evaluation 是2~ 3 分鐘。

只要到達安全時間(即為演說的最短時間)，timer 就會舉起綠色牌子；而超過30秒~1分鐘，則會舉起黃色牌子；當演說者到了時間限制時，就會舉起紅色牌子，直到演說的結束。

(當timer舉起紅牌時，演講者還有30秒可以將演說結束，如果超過時間，在比賽中將會失去資格)

在meeting 中，時間的掌控是非常重要的一環，所以timer 的工作非常重要。不僅是計算每位演說者的時間，還要適時的提醒TMD及每位 session master。

如果一個流程的時間拉的過長，就會縮短其它活動的時間，以期在時間內可以結束meeting 。

假設variety session 的時間超過2 分鐘，就會在 table topic 的活動減少2 分鐘，避免把整個會議的時間拉的過長。

 

Timer 是我做的最多次的工作。一開始也是錯誤百出。有時候忘了舉牌，有時候太快舉牌，也不知道如何掌控時間流程。

在前輩們的指導下，隨著擔任工作的次數愈來愈多，也愈來愈有心得。

如果是剛開始要試著做不同於演說工作的話，可以先從timer 開始，再試著去做 table topic , variety session …等等。

每項工作都有不同可以學習的地方，也都很有趣。

雖然是戰戰競競，但完成了也會很有成就感的！
